a social state

Nothing literal can be said of souls, only of the search for meaning; and every life-form has awareness, if not a brain then the mind that directs its living. My mind emerges to serve my body's needs, but only half my cells are human, the rest bacteria. And now my words and thoughts struggle with this uncommon sense.

I am a symbiont - like lichen, human and bacterial cells. My bones like coral, on which I grow, my mind emerging, my soul ineffable, I am a social reef.

Like a state we are, my cells, my citizens; my brain Our Postmaster-general; my mind Our Regent, and life Our queen. We are, a social state.

Authors automatically have copyright, from what I understand, so strictly speaking a copyright notice should be unnecessary. Coupled with this, at the moment I have no idea what particular form of copyright I would like to attach. So I'm happy with whatever the default is. I like the idea of a Creative Commons licence, but share or quote as you wish, only please include a link with that, back to the page you found of interest here. Thanks!
